What is Equine Assisted Learning?

People have known about the power of horses and their bond & influence on humans since before the beginning of recorded history.  They have allowed man to capture, ride, take them to war, use them as machines, and so much more.  Horses have been weapons, protectors, currency, status and most recently, teachers.  Many professionals are now interested to know exactly why these majestic creatures have such an amazing ability to influence and change the lives of humans.

 

Equine Assisted Learning is an experiential learning process that occurs when humans and horses engage through carefully created activities, puzzles or exercises.  Equine Assisted Learning is a learner-based educational experience with horses. More specifically, EAL is an effective approach to human development that encourages individual and team growth. Participants engage in objectively driven exercises and find themselves learning valuable & meaningful life skills in an unbiased atmosphere while having an authentic experience with their teachers, majestic horses.
